According to the American Lung Association, VOCs pose a threat to human health and irritate the eyes, nose, and throat, causing difficulty breathing and, in extreme cases, damage to a person’s nervous system and organs.
It’s best to avoid using paint with high VOC levels; instead, look for paint labeled “low VOC” or “no VOC.” These paints are readily available at retail outlets and specialty paint stores.
Color and sheen
