Workers Compensation Insurance

It’s important to hire a licensed and insured painting contractor. Far too many painters in the bay area carry liability only and have an exemption for workers’ compensation. 

The problem with this is if they have workers on site that do not have an exemption the property owner is liable if they get hurt on the job. It makes it very important to obtain a certificate of insurance from the contractor that you hire that shows both workers’ compensation and general liability insurance. 

Contractors who don’t have workers’ compensation on employees or subcontractors are in violation of the law and put the property owner in jeopardy for lawsuits.
